Chamber Music Sedona in association with the Quick and Bowman families is pleased to present the 21st annual Quick Bowman Piano Competition. The Quick-Bowman Piano Competition was created by Henry and LaReine Quick to give local youth an opportunity to perform before judges and be awarded for their participation in the competition. The competition and recital are held in the memory of Henry and LaReine Quick, and Jesse Bowman.
In the spring young pianists compete in the adjudicated event where all participants will be awarded scholarship dollars to further their musical journeys. Students receive written comments, and winners perform in an afternoon recital open to the public. Applicants must complete an application form together with a $25 fee and permission from parents and teacher to compete.
Click here to download the application form, or you may pick one up at the Chamber Music Offices (1487 W St Rt 89A, Ste 9, Sedona, AZ). The completed application forms and payment must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, March 7, 2012, or delivered by hand no later than 5:00pm Monday, March 12.
The competition will be held on Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Sedona Creative Life Center and begins at 8 AM. The competition is NOT open to the public. Only immediate family members and the student’s music teacher may be present in the competition room.
The winners recital will be held at the Sedona Creative Life Center at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 1, 2012. This performance is open to the public with no-charge.
